The Peace Collective Story
A Lifestyle Brand aiming to make a difference.

Our Story Starts Here.
Starting a clothing line and incorporating a philanthropic aspect was an idea that I entertained for a long time. However, just like most people with grand dreams fear and complacency kept me from ever making the dream a reality. My inner voice told me that I should go for it. That I should do my best and attempt to live out my dream, however fear and doubt kept me complacent. I told my self that it was a foolish idea, and that I didn't know the first thing about fashion or starting a clothing brand. At one point I had almost completely convinced my self that it would be too hard, and that I would surely fail. The voice deep down started to fade, and the idea of a philanthropic clothing brand had almost completely faded. That was until one day when I read a book written by the creator of “Toms”, Blake Mycoskie, titled “Start Something That Matters”.The book opened my eyes to the limitless possibilities of giving back, and the concept of the "One For One Model." A model that I strongly believe every company should incorporate. The one for one model entails donating a product or a tangible item for every product that is sold. Reading that book renewed my confidence and I decided to go for it.
At the end of the day If you’re going to be here on this earth then there is a necessity to make a difference. I wanted my work to mean something, I strongly believe we should all strive to make someone else's life a little better which will in turn give our own lives more meaning. I want the Peace Collective to represent the idea that in life you can love your work, follow your dreams and passions, while also having a positive impact on the world. Thought and dedication goes into every single piece we develop in order to create a visually appealing garment, while also staying true to these ideals that we strongly believe in. The goal is to live life to the fullest, dream more, do more, and become more; while providing children in Poverty the opportunity to one day do the same.
For every piece that we sell, a portion of the proceeds will go to providing school meals to a Canadian child in need through Breakfast for Learning Canada, The goal is to help keep kids in school allowing them to further their education, in the hopes that one day that child will play a vital role in the development and forthcoming footprint of his/her entire nation.
Every child regardless of religion or ethnicity has one thing in common. Potential. Potential to help change the world
Why School Meals?
AS OF JULY 2014, 15% OF CHILDREN LIVE BELOW THE POVERTY LINE, 31% OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS AND 62% OF SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS DO NOT EAT A HEALTHY BREAKFAST BEFORE SCHOOL (BREAKFAST FOR LEARNING). IT’S COMMON KNOWLEDGE THAT IN ORDER TO BE FOCUS AND HAVE FULL FUNCTIONALITY, AN AVERAGE PERSON NEEDS TO BE FULLY FED AND ENERGIZED. THE REPERCUSSIONS OF CHILD HUNGER THROUGHOUT THEIR ACADEMIC YEARS CAN EXTEND TO LESS DEVELOPED LITERACY AND NUMERACY SKILLS AS WELL AS POOR HEALTH.
